Baggage regulations for going to the United States

1. Go to the counter with your passport to check in and check in your luggage, and get your boarding pass. Do not check in valuables!

2. Please remove the old luggage strips and barcode labels on your suitcases and bags before checking in your luggage to ensure that your luggage is transported to your destination correctly.

3. After 9/11, domestic flights in the United States have implemented stricter airport security inspection measures. Your large luggage needs to be checked in at the airport and must undergo a super strong X-ray large mechanical inspection. But you must remember: passports and other documents, air tickets, any kind of cash and valuables, and film must not be checked in. Since luggage needs to be moved frequently, please check in advance whether the suitcase you carry is sturdy and good. (It is best to use a canvas suitcase). If the handle or wheel of the suitcase is broken during the check-in process, the airline will not compensate according to regulations. The personal safety inspection in the airport is very strict. You need to take off your coat, shoes, belt, and open your bag for inspection; smoking is not allowed in the toilet on the plane, otherwise you will be prosecuted.

4. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has the power to open and inspect incoming luggage. Please do not lock your luggage to avoid the lock being pried and the suitcase being damaged.

1. Notice on Carry-on Luggage

Domestic flights: Passengers holding first-class tickets can carry two pieces of luggage each, and passengers holding business class and economy class tickets can carry one piece of luggage each. The volume of each piece of luggage shall not exceed 20×40×55 cm. The total weight of the above two items shall not exceed 5 kg.

International flights: Under normal circumstances, the volume of each piece of luggage shall not exceed 20×40×55 cm, and the total weight of hand luggage shall not exceed 7 kg. (However, each airline has special weight restrictions. Please pay attention to the tips on the ticket or consult the airline)

2. Free checked baggage allowance

On domestic routes: Economy class passengers holding adult or child tickets are 20 kg, business class passengers are 30 kg, and first class passengers are 40 kg. Passengers holding infant tickets have no free baggage allowance.

International flights: Economy class passengers can check in two pieces of luggage for free (UA only one piece), each piece cannot exceed 23 kg, and the length of the three sides of a single piece of luggage cannot exceed 158 cm. If it exceeds, the passenger needs to pay the excess baggage fee.
